Who is ready to snap up Dugan?

Gold Coast Titans are keeping a close eye on Josh Dugan's situation in Canberra as they weigh up the merits of signing the former NSW fullback should he be sacked by Canberra Raiders.

Dugan is expected to have his contract terminated - although he could head off his dismissal by resigning before a board meeting scheduled for Thursday to discuss his future - after losing the support of the coaching staff and his teammates.

If Josh Dugan parts ways with the Raiders, where is his likely destination?

The Titans have expressed an interest in talking to Dugan should that occur. St George Illawarra and Brisbane Broncos have also been linked with Dugan, although Broncos coach Anthony Griffin on Wednesday night denied any interest in the Raiders custodian.

That could change if Corey Norman accepts an offer to join Parramatta next season. Norman and Dugan share the same manager - SFX Sports' Paul Sutton - and there were even suggestions on Wednesday that the Broncos could allow Norman to join Parramatta this season and replace him with Dugan.

Griffin, however, said the club remained confident it would keep its current No 1.

"We're still working through a process with Corey Norman," he said. "I am confident we will retain him."

The Titans would therefore appear in the box seat. The club has a solid fullback in William Zillman but acquiring Dugan would allow the Titans to move Zillman to the centres, strengthening their backline.

The club has had success in turning around the careers of troubled footballers - Greg Bird and Nate Myles endured chequered pasts before finding their feet on the tourist strip. The pair are now co-captains.
