Wellington Phoenix v Adelaide United wouldn't have attracted too much attention ahead of the round 22 - but it's landed two of the three nominations for Goal of the Week, plus this week's Save of the Week.

And amidst shambolic defending, exquisite finishing, send-offs and a late equaliser, was a huge moment in the career of one of Corey Gameiro, one of Australia's youngest and brightest talents.

Gameiro, 20, joined the Phoenix until the end of the season earlier this month, on loan from Fulham.

The highly rated striker enjoyed an outstanding under-19 AFC championship, scoring all six of Australia's goals at the tournament to help them qualify for the 2013 under-20 World Cup. He has recently also been on loan with Dutch club FC Eindhoven where he made eight appearances.

Speculation has linked him with a move to a Sydney or Melbourne-based club for next A-League season. But in the meantime, Phoenix manager Ricki Herbert will hope for more of the magic in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Adelaide as the club tries to move off the foot of the table.

"(Corey) took his goal well, works hard, he's young boy (with) good endeavour," Herbert said after the match.

"I think he’s done well so far."

It was a busy performance by Gameiro, who notched an assist and another four shots on target alongside his quality strike.

Gameiro's strike features in a quality field for this week's Goal of the Round.
