Canterbury-Bankstown players have swooped to defend under-fire recruit Tony Williams with skipper Michael Ennis claiming the big forward was an "easy target".
Has the criticism about Tony Williams’s performance so far in 2013 been fair or unfair?
And Bulldogs prop Aidan Tolman added: "If you are a big signing from another club you are going to cop criticism."
Williams has another chance to silence his growing list of critics in Friday night's match against the Sydney Roosters.
"When you are one (win) and four (loses), people start judging," Ennis said.
"T-Rex' has come here as a high-profile player. He is an easy target I suppose, given some of the footy he played over there at Manly.
"But very few players in the game can change a game individually like he can. He is settling into his new role. I am glad he is in the team. No doubt he will try and prove people wrong."
Tolman described criticism as simply "unfair".
