Well what an exciting couple of weeks it?s been on the world?s leading tours.

Firstly, after dominating the LPGA for the past two years, Taiwan’s Yani Tseng makes way for the ever consistent American Stacy Lewis as the new World No.1 and now Tiger with his eighth victory at the Arnold Palmer Invitational last week takes the top dog spot from Rory McIlroy.

Tiger has simply been outstanding this season winning three of his first five events in the States and dating back to the beginning of last season he has now claimed six victories from 24 attempts. If that’s not Tiger of old what is!

The key to his winning ways has been his ability to dominate the par fives. At Bay Hill he was a combined 14-under for those holes making nine birdies, three eagles and one bogey.

Tiger's next outing will be at Augusta in a fortnight and it would take a brave man to back against Woods winning his fifth green jacket.

The PGA Tour moves across to the lone star state of Texas for the next couple of weeks starting with this week’s Shell Houston Open.

The field includes Rory McIlroy who if he was successful in winning would return to the top spot in the world rankings. He hasn’t shown us much so far this year although his final round at the Cadillac Championship a couple of weeks ago was a confidence booster posting a seven-under-par 65.

There are two guys that I like this week with the first of them Keegan Bradley. He also has been a little inconsistent this season but last week showed much better form finishing in a tie for third at Bay Hill. He finished fourth at Redstone last year so good memories for him on returning.

Watch out for Steve Stricker who has had a couple of weeks off. He posted his second top three finish at the WGC Cadillac a fortnight ago and he also likes this track, posting four top 11 results.

There are 18 Aussies in the field led by two-time winner of the event Stuart Appleby (1999, 2006).

Personally, I think John Senden is the pick of the bunch. He has made five from five cuts around here with his best result last season a T18. The Queenslander tied for 27th at last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational, finishing an impressive 12th in strokes gained-putting.

Watch out for two young guys that have been making some noise of late they could be serious dark horses this week.

The first is the 2012 Mayakoba champion John Huh. The talented American went into the final round last week at Bay Hill just a couple of shots off the lead but wound up shooting 80 and finishing inside the top 30.

The other is 19-year-old Texan Jordan Speith. He finished runner up to Scott Brown at the recent Puerto Rico Open and then backed that up with a seventh at Tampa Bay. This kid has got plenty of game and looks to be a star of the future.

Have a great golfing week everyone!
