NAB Cup round two injury wrap: we examine your AFL club's injury news after the weekend of games.

Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn
He looked like he could cut it at the top level so news that Bulldogs rookie Jake Stringer will be out for up to a month with an ankle injury is disappointing. Stringer suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of Friday night's one-point NAB Cup win over Hawthorn. Luke Bruest came to the bench with a cork and his Hawks teammate David Hale was battling with a foot complaint.

Geelong v Adelaide Crows
Veteran Geelong forward Paul Chapman has been cleared of serious injury and will play again before the round one clash with Hawthorn. Chapman's quadriceps strain was one of the few negatives in Geelong's crushing win over Adelaide, with the 31-year-old substituted in the second quarter. Chapman's concern was so minor he may play this week. The Crows had their pride damaged but no other injuries were reported.

Gold Coast Suns v North Melbourne
The heat - this match was played in sweltering conditions in Townsville - left players exhausted but neither club reported any major injuries from the contest. Gold Coast will have to do without forward Tom Lynch for the first month of the season, however, due to left ankle injury suffered last week.

Essendon v Richmond
Michael Hurley struggled against the Tigers and there were reports of a leg injury. He might have a week off to freshen up with round one the clear focus for the hard-working big man. Richmond came away with a win and no concerns on the injury front.

Greater Western Sydney v Brisbane Lions
GWS hearts were in mouths when powerful forward Jonathon Patton was helped from the field by two trainers late in the first half with a knee injury. A corked quad, however, was the diagnosis and coach Kevin Sheedy is not too worried. "He'll be OK. It's just a corked leg," Sheedy said. Patton's teammate Nathan Wilson hurt a shoulder - he was jabbed up and sent back out there but couldn't finish the game.

Carlton v Fremantle
Remember this time last year when the Blues were struggling to find 22 fit men to send out for round one? Well, it's a different story this time around. Mick Malthouse has a healthy list and his players seem to be learning his style quickly. The Dockers, without Matthew Pavlich, were directionless. Fortunately they didn't lose anyone and will probably get the skipper back for a hit-out next weekend.

Port Adelaide v Melbourne Demons
A clean bill of health for both side's out of the thriller in Renmark. A number of key players are likely to return for the Power and Demons in week three of the NAB Cup. Mitch Clark is unlikely to feature for Melbourne in the pre-season games and is doubtful for round one.

St Kilda v Sydney Swans
St Kilda are hopeful Rhys Stanley's knee injury is only a minor setback to his pre-season. The key position player was subbed out of Sunday's 23-point win over Sydney at Etihad Stadium when he hyper-extended the joint during the third term. "It looked bad initially, it doesn't look quite as bad now," Watters said. Lewis Roberts-Thomson had a tight calf but that won't sideline the tall utility player.

West Coast v Collingwood
Collingwood defender Ben Reid faces a nervous wait after injuring his right knee in the 20-point victory over West Coast at Patersons Stadium. Reid limped off the field in the third quarter after jarring his right leg when a falling Josh Kennedy crashed into him. West Coast were also struck by injuries, wingman Andrew Embley damaging his right hamstring and Matt Rosa finishing the game on the bench with an ice pack on his right hamstring.
