The AFL season begins on Friday. We get you ready for the opening bounce by taking a look at all the teams and their prospects for 2013.

TIME FOR A TURNAROUND

Season 2013 could well represent a line in the sand for Port Adelaide. So many things went wrong last season. The arrival of new coach Ken Hinkley, the commitment of the club's young stars to new deals, a new leadership structure and some nice recruiting has given Port fans at least a modicum of hope for the future.

It won't be easy, though, and it won't be a quick fix. Hinkley will be prepared to take a long-term approach to rebuilding a club that has won only eight-and-a-half games of its past 44. Now the hard work begins.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

TRAVIS BOAK
Port Adelaide's new captain is a very good player, but he needs to become elite. Having signed a new deal to stay and assumed the leadership, it's time for Boak to really shine.

ROBBIE GRAY
Was sorely missed after suffering a season-ending knee injury in round four last season. He probably won't be rushed back, but should make an immediate impact when he returns.

BRAD EBERT
The Power midfielder was one of the few highlights in an otherwise forgettable season for Port. Averaged 100 FOX FOOTY SuperCoach points per game and could push even higher this year.

OLLIE WINES
When your coach suggests you are a player a club can build a side around, you know the kid is going to be good.

Glenn McFarlane's preview: 15th-16th.
