Former New South Wales State of Origin star Nathan Hindmarsh believes the Blues will end Queensland?s dominance if they win the battle of the forwards.

Discussing the make-up of the team with Fox Sports expert and former Blues half Matthew Johns, the pair believe the Blues have a lot working in their favour ahead of the series opener at ANZ Stadium on June 5.

With the Maroons boasting an unprecedented seven straight series victories, Hindmarsh declared the Blues must win the battle of the engine room to stop the Maroons from extending their record.

“This will be eight series in a row if we go down,” Hindmarsh told Johns.

“If we win the forwards battle we will go a long way to winning the game.

“No Petero Civoniceva who even in his last year had a very good Origin series… Our forwards are a bit younger we’re a bit more in-form then what the Queensland forwards are.

“We’ve got a huge array of forwards to pick from. We’ve got a lot of depth their at the moment.”
