Inside the playing mind of Carney

Cronulla star Todd Carney opens up on the intricacies in his game in an in-depth one-on-one interview with Peter Sterling.

In an interview which will air in its entirety on Thursday night's episode of Sterlo, the Sharks playmaker opens up on why the late decisions he makes down the short side when in attack, tend to be the best ones.

“Definitely down the short side,” Carney tells Sterlo.

“I’m waiting for someone to fall out of the line or waiting for someone to make a decision for me.

“Two weeks ago against the Bulldogs, early in the game I made the correct decision and late in the game I made the wrong decision by putting Sam Perrett over. He took the intercept… I should have played short to Jono Wright on that occasion.

“Definitely it’s a work in progress for me playing those short sides but I feel that it is coming on and it is benefiting our team.”
