Manly fullback Brett Stewart is set to miss up to six weeks with a back injury that now looks certain to keep him out of the State of Origin opener on June 5.
Stewart was taken off in the Sea Eagles' clash with St George Illawarra on Monday night after stiffening up at half-time, following awkward contact in the back end of the first half.
The NSW custodian had scans on Tuesday and it was confirmed by Manly coach Geoff Toovey on Wednesday that the try-scoring machine had a chipped bone in his back and would be out for at least a month.
